The Regional Selection Camp of Jr. NBA Malaysia has just ended last weekends. If you have no idea on what this Jr. NBA Malaysia is all about, then maybe you can just take a look at this flowchart:
Basically, the Regional Selection Camp is the third stage of the program. Previously in June, we have attended the first stage; Coaches & Open Clinic.
In this third stage, thousands of kids with age range from 10-14 years old were tested on certain basketball skills and a few vital tests.
The skills test which were at the respective skill stations were to test some basketball skills; footwork, lay-up, dribbling, passing & shooting. 100 kids (60 boys and 40 girls) who obtained the highest score will continue to the next stage (on the next day) and later, they will be reduced to 64 kids to go to the National Training Camp (stage 4).
So. Here are some pictures taken during the selection camp:
Overall, the kids love the program. But the sad news was: they did not get selected to be the top 100 kids to go to the next stage. It was so frustrating (to the kids) but at least they have learned something on basketball and they’re loving it. 😉
InsyaAllah, they will try again next time. 🙂
